Principal

Mrs. Raskin grew up in Queens, New York and later here in Los Angeles, California.  She obtained her Masters degree in Curriculum and Instruction from California State Bakersfield.  She taught for nearly a decade in New York while her husband learned in yeshiva. After her husband received Rabbinical Ordination from Yeshiva Chofetz Chaim they moved to Los Angeles with their children. Mrs. Raskin taught for several years in Los Angeles. In 2002, she joined Or Hachaim, became principal and taught the first Pre 1st class. Mrs. Raskin held the position of Preschool director for six years while the school was developing and growing. Today, Mrs. Raskin spends her day developing and implementing policies, programs, curriculum activities,  promoting the educational development of each student and the professional development of each staff member. In 2013 Mrs. Raskin was honored with the Milken Educators Award.  Mrs. Raskin thanks Hashem for giving her the opportunity to impact the lives of the Or Hachaim community and watching the students grow into wonderful young adults.
