Tefillah and Beur Tefillah

As soon as our students begin reading from their siddur, the world of Tefillah is opened up to them. Each year we add new tefillot to their repertoire, and each year we focus on learning various tefillot more in depth in beur tefillah. Many tefillot are learned through song, which allows students to both learn the tefillot better and makes the prayers more meaningful. In addition, the laws of davening are incorporated into our daily learning of the tefillot. In the 4th – 7th grades students learn from a sefer called Tefillah Power. Through games and contests students reflect on the meaning of the tefillot and find something in the tefillah to connect to.  In 4th grade the boys join the minyan for mincha and in 6th grade, boys join the school’s morning minyan.
