Our Social Studies program meets the California State Standards. The curriculum incorporates map skills, comparing and contrasting everyday life in different times and places, causes and effects of historical events, governmental institutions and practices. The year concludes with a History Fair.
The following is taught in each grade level:
Pre1, 1st and 2nd– Students learn about family, society and the way people interact with each other in a community. National holidays and character development are learned through integrating with the Language Arts program and classroom needs.
3th grade- Communities
4th grade- California History
5th grade- Making a Nation
6th grade- Ancient Civilizations, and Geography
7th grade- World Geography
8th grade- US History
